Best Italian food in Bangalore at Ottimo, ITC Gardenia

Last few weeks I have tried a lot of Italian food in Bangalore at some of the top notch restaurants in city. And to know my final verdict all you need to do is read the title of this story.

Interestingly, these last weeks of my Italian expedition have been full of learning’s, uncovering the hidden secrets about the Italian cuisine and eating a lot of food.

They say that Italian cuisine is one of the simplest cuisines in world; I find it to be equally complex. The number of ingredients used in Italian food preparations isn’t too much and hence the importance of quality of these ingredients becomes really vital.

Ottimo Cucina Italiana at ITC Gardenia, is an award winning restaurant and offers the finest Italian food in Bangalore. Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself and I am sure you will also vouch for it.

Capturing the organic vibrant spirit of Italy, Ottimo allows you to experience Italian dishes prepared from the finest local and imported ingredients. Get glimpses of the bright, lively tastes of authentic South Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist.

Here are some of the gastronomic delights at Ottimo that left me in awe:

Agnolotti with Liquid Smoked Ricotta: Morels and Aglio-olio e pepperoncino:
This preparation as it looks in the picture ‘A Galactic Ecosystem‘, was a complex combination of flavours. The ricotta, morels, the cheese used everything had a role to play and add the right flavour and texture to the dish.

Slow Cooked Pork Belly with Pistachio and Black Pepper: Imported pork belly wrapped in pistachio and black pepper, cooked slowly until the meat is tender enough and the nuts are crispy enough to complement each other. Served with assorted veges and spinach gave it a completely different twist.

Squid and Chorizo: A really appetizing salad with baby squids cut in the form of churros, quick pan cooked chorizos with select herbs and leaves to balance. The squids being cut as churros gave it the extra surface area needed to soak in the sauces and other aromas.

Lobster and Chilli Double Stuffed Ravioli: Chef Vittorio Greco has a passion for innovation and the same reflects in this preparation. Unique double stuffed ravioli with intense blend of tomato, pepper and select herbs.

Torta Caprese 2.0: Torta caprese is a traditional Italian cake. Now the innovation over here was to place this cake inside a chocolate ball and then add molten chocolate on top to create a magical experience. If you would have followed MasterChefAU then you would know this completely.

This time tested cuisine is a riotous combination of colours and flavours where every ingredient is pampered and tempered to give an earthy taste that satisfies the mouth, stomach and soul. Discover the famed playful twists of Chef Vittorio’s carefully curated culinary craft at Ottimo, ITC Gardenia.

Till then keep eating, keep sharing and keep exploring for the love of food.

Buon Appetito!
